Student Intern

Kenneth is an intern at Milestone Counseling and is currently working toward a Master’s in Professional Counseling at Grand Canyon University. He holds several degrees, including a Master of Divinity, Master of Music, and a Bachelor in Music and Communications Arts. Currently Kenneth is a Senior Account Executive in Regional Ministry Development at Grand Canyon University. In the past, he has had the privilege to serve in full time ministry for over 25 years in several different cities across the country. He started his Professional Counseling degree program in 2015 yet took time off for two years for advancement at the University.

His life changed at the end of 2019 when he was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. Since then, he has had months of chemo, radiation, and liver and colon surgery. This long journey, which has lasted almost two years, has helped him learn patience and develop daily peace amidst this trek to recovery. He is currently in remission for the past 3 months and hopes to remain cancer free!
Fueled by his love of helping people; whether its helping people solve problems, providing support and care, or guiding and aiding them in doing their best, he knew that he needed to complete his degree and move forward toward this new season in his life. It has always been his desire to enhance the lives of others—helping them thrive and not just survive. Therefore, he believes that finishing this degree will help him in this endeavor.
Kenneth has experience working with children to adults and strives to create a safe and welcoming atmosphere. He engages a variety of approaches utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered and solution-focused therapy and play therapy. Areas of interest include anxiety, depression, grief, death and dying, life transitions, trauma, family conflict, anger, conduct disorders, bipolar disorders, and relationship concerns. Kenneth believes that clients have the answers and that with his help they will find a deeper awareness of who they are, who they want to become, and learn how to propel themselves onto a path of healing, growth, and self-actualization.
In his spare time, he likes to spend time with my family and friends, watch classic movies, and laugh. Traveling with family, hanging out at Disney parks, and Saturday morning family big breakfasts rate high on his list.
