Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern

I am originally from Haiti and I speak fluent Creole. I moved to the United States of America in 1991. I completed my High School and Associate Degree in Dental Lab Technician in Brooklyn, NY. While I enjoyed working with teeth, I wanted to change my major to Human Services because I wanted to help people.

I moved to Connecticut in 2002. I attended the University of Connecticut and graduated with Bachelor in General Studies and minor in Human Services. I worked for four years as a children/adult Advocate for the Domestic Violence Crisis Center. Also, I worked for a homeless shelter as a Case Manager/Housing Specialist for homeless families and children.

I wanted to help more people who deal with difficulties within their community. I started looking for a career that can help me reach out to family and children who are experiencing Domestic Violence and homelessness.I went back to school in 2008 to obtain a Master degree in Community Counseling from the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. I graduated with M.S in December 2014.

I moved to Florida 2014 right after I graduated with my Master degree. I am currently a Registered Clinical Mental Health Intern. I have been working as a Mental Health counselor for 6 years. I have experienced treating adults and children with mental health illnesses. My qualifications include: coordinating services and case management; mental health assessment and treatment plan; Impatient Crisis unit Therapist, Outpatient Therapist; ADHD, Trauma, Depression, Autism, children with IEP, anxiety, and Domestic Violence.
